I had the privilege of making a very colourful and delicate wedding cake for a bride on her wedding day in Napanee, Ontario last weekend. The flowers were hand-made and painted ahead of time (with only one accident!) and everything was assembled the day before. The flowers were coloured with a combination of airbrushing and dry brushing.
The cake was entirely vanilla butter cake with vanilla buttercream, and was stacked off-centre to leave room for the adorable bride and groom "fishing" topper provided by the bride.
For the first time (for me) the groom wanted his own cake! You'll have to pop by next week for a look at his...it has to do with our "theme" of 2012.
Also, I have placed the orchids and lilies in my Etsy store for those who would like to order them for their own wedding cake!
