Recently I was asked to make a farming themed wedding cake and cookies. Since I have been making polymer clay toppers as well as gumpaste, the bride asked for a clay version.
The topper was larger than I usually make - sitting atop an 8" round - and with all of the tractor axels and wheels, it took quite a time to build it and bake it. Everything is made of clay except the wire pitchfork.
I have also listed this as a future topper on my Etsy account of you'd like to order one of this size. Next month is a bowling couple!

One of the most difficult parts of my job is finding a place to take proper pictures of my cakes. I tend to pick a black background to cover most shadows, but in this case, made the poor groom fade into the distance. I've also played around with an antique button in my photo program is hopes to soften the black and white contrast in the photo. I was just finishing the cake when the party arrived for pickup so there was no changing the backdrop!
