After many years as a surveyor and teacher of surveying, my dad has retired. This weekend he threw a big get-together and several of his former students and friends came over to celebrate. On Saturdays we don't seem to get anywhere until late in the day (after all the cakes been delivered) but when I showed up with this cake topper all was forgiven.
If I could find a picture of my dad, I would post it for you, but his basic description is Santa in a ripped shirt (or a missing button). Everyone at the party, including my two-year-old niece thought my figurine looked like dad. He was surprised and thrilled with his cake.
