I was not one of those kids who made a volcano as a science experiment, but I had the opportunity to make one out of cake recently! Russell, who turned five, wanted a volcano just like the one in his favourite Hot Wheels book. The cars start on the ramp in front of the volcano, jump through the mouth and race up the spiral road inside the mountain to the top (at least in the book they do)!
The cake stood eight inches tall with the top half vanilla butter cake and the bottom half dark chocolate. Decorations involved airbrushing and royal icing. It was a lot of fun!
This weekend my family and I are heading to Bath, Ontario for their weekend Canada Day celebrations. From war re-enactments to parades and fireworks, we always love it there! I hope everyone has a great Canada Day!
